Michelle Greenwood - Associate Assistant Principal

Associate Assistant Principal - Deep Support

My teaching career commenced 31 years ago where I was teaching Geology and Physics in South London. A move to Kent followed, and I took on the roles of Head of Science, Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher in a High School and a Boys Grammar School. The valuable experience I gained during this 20 year period enabled me to develop a wide range of skills.

I decided to make the move home to Yorkshire in 2011 and taught in a different range of settings from a PRU to a large comprehensive school in Bradford. It was in September 2017 I joined Outwood Academy Foxhills. During this last year I have been Acting Head of Department, covering the HOD of Science whilst she was on maternity leave, and I am now reverting back to my role as Second in Science. During this experience, I enjoyed the challenges that came with it, therefore, I applied for the post of Associate Assistant Principal in Deep Support and I am now looking forward to the new challenges this role will bring. This opportunity will also enable me to provide the support and interventions necessary to ensure that every student at Foxhills meets their potential, to assist in removing barriers to learning and to open doors for their future. This underlies my belief that every student matters and has the right to succeed.
